The Board

AAIB has a working board of six (6) board members, inclusive of the founding Chairman. 

Board members serve a two-year term with the option of re-election.

Current Board Directors:

  • Ms Di Zhang - The Chair

    Gloria is the owner and founding member of Intlang Corporate Consulting. Originally from Beijing China, Gloria has worked and lived in Beijing, Shanghai, Singapore, Sydney & Perth in the past 30 years, specialised in the international business development (Greater China and Asian Pacific) and joint venture project management.

    Gloria has a broad, multi-faceted knowledge of Chinese and Australian business practices. She is acknowledged as a specialist advisor on cross cultural communication, international marketing and project management. Since 1993, Gloria has assisted many of the world’s top 200 companies with market development activities in Australasia.

    Gloria has acquired the following qualifications:

    • Diploma in English Study, Beijing China

    • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Australia

    • Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management, Australia

    • Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Management, Australia

    • Bachelor’s Degrees in Small Business Management and Marketing, Australia

    • Master of Business Administration (MBA) – Australia

    • A graduate member of the Australian institute of company directors (GAICD).

    Gloria is a not only a prominent member of the West Australian Chinese community, but also has an extensive government and business network in WA, SEA and China. Currently, Gloria is currently the Chair of Australian Association of International Business and President of Western Australian Oriental Culture and Art Association.

  • Mr Stewart McDonald - The Hon. Treasurer

    Having 25 years experience with ASX listed companies as CFO and Company Secretary whilst running his own Corporate and Events Company, Stewart is very well placed to provide financial guidance and business acumen to the board of ENRG.

    Stewart’s Event Company, Vertical Events is the premier Investment Conference platform for ASX listed companies in Australia and through this process he has established an extensive financial network.

  • Mr John Gardener - The Hon. Secretary

    John has 27 years mining (and petroleum) industry experience in senior management roles in London and Perth and lead teams based in Australia, China, Japan, Korea, Europe and South America.

    He has completed introductory Chinese and Japanese language programs, as well as cross cultural training programs while working for Chinese and Japanese joint venture companies.

    His business qualifications include BSc Honours, Geology and Geophysics, Certificate of The Chartered Institute of Marketing, Corporate Finance and CELTA.

  • Mr Terry Gardiner – Non-executive Director

    Mr Terry Gardiner has more than 20 years’ experience in capital markets, stockbroking & derivatives trading and prior to that had many years trading in equities & derivatives for his family accounts.

    Terry is currently the director of stockbroking firm Barclay Wells Limited and a Non-executive Director of Resource companies - Cazaly Resources Limited and Galan Resources Limited.

  • Mr Shane Entrikson – Director

    Shane is a specialist Australian lawyer in employment, health and safety, governance, disputes and related litigation. He is recognised in Doyle’s Guide 2018 of leading lawyers. Shane is an Adjunct Professor in Law at Murdoch University where he designed and teaches the unit Legal Strategy in Organisations. He also supports Curtin University by acting as the Coroner in the highly regarded Coroners’ Court Mock program. Shane has more than 25 years of experience as a lawyer (Herbert Smith Freehills) and in house as a business executive in roles across Legal, HR, Safety and Commercial functions (BHP Group and Downer). Shane is a member of the board of Crime Stoppers and the Australian Association of International Business and has beef cattle production interests in Australia.

  • Mr Alexander Bax – Director

    Alexander Bax has joined Alto Capital as an Investment Manager. Alexander has almost 20 years of experience in financial services having commenced his career in Brisbane, worked in Sydney and over seven years in Perth with State One Stockbroking. Alexander specialises in private client advice on all aspects of portfolio management including portfolio strategy, design and ongoing investment management.

  • Ms Keru Wong – Director

    Keru Wong has 16 years’ experience in various large multinational companies, of which 12 years was with Rio Tinto working in both Perth and Singapore, predominantly in Procurement and International Sales and Marketing roles. Keru holds Bachelor’s degrees in both Economics & Arts (Languages) from the University of Western Australia and is currently undertaking a Master’s in healthcare. With cross industry and international study and work experience, Keru has developed an appreciation for how cultural diversity impacts political, economic and organisational decision making and behaviours.

    Keru values diplomacy and cultural engagement through the respect and understanding of others with a passion for helping people overcome cultural assumptions and break barriers to foster genuine and authentic business and personal relationships.
